Mike Shiver feat. Bo Bruce – Still Here

Fri, 05/18/2012 - 14:02

It’s been a while since we last heard a Mike Shiver tune kick in. But the Swedish producer makes up for it. Featuring the mind-shivering vocals of Bo Bruce, ‘Still Here’ is the perfect prog-trance to welcome spring.

Quailty over quantity, is a saying Mike Shivers lives up to. The young Swedish talent delivers time and again, releasing masterpieces such as ‘Give Me Faith’, ‘Everywhere You Are’ and ‘Slacker’.

If there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s finding the perfect balance between the touching warmth of vocals and the rousing beat of a good prog-houser. And so he does on ‘Still Here’. A strong vocal piece that’ll get in under your skin in no time.

Out now: Emma Hewitt – Burn The Sky Down

Fri, 05/18/2012 - 00:20

Making the world a little more colorful with each song, Australian singer/songwriter Emma Hewitt is proud to present her long-awaited debut album, ‘Burn The Sky Down’. Fusing ambient and pop with electronic music, each track reveals a new side of the multi-talented songstress. While taking the listener on an eclectic ride into her private universe, Emma’s warm voice lights the sky and shows exactly why the world is ready for her.

Having worked with EDM’s producer elite and winning the ‘Best Hi-NRG/Euro Track’ award at the International Dance Music Awards of 2010 with Dash Berlin collaboration ‘Waiting’, has made Emma Hewitt one of the fastest rising names in dance land. Her characteristic and versatile voice became a favorite both in and outside the EDM scene. Outstanding live performances and acoustic sessions have made her a universal crowd favorite. With ‘Burn The Sky Down’, Emma Hewitt is ready to be more than a featured vocalist.

Thinking outside the box, the album slides down multiple genres and reaches far beyond the expected. Emma: “I didn’t particularly focus on being driven by a specific genre or style so much for the album. I really tried to let each song be what I felt it should be, so stylistically it is quite eclectic, although there is definitely a common thread running through the entirety. We worked with producer Lee Groves on the album, he has worked with artists such as Marilyn Manson, Gwen Stefani and Depeche Mode, so he was great at creating the ambient soundscapes we were looking for. I wanted to cover some different territory to what people may have traditionally heard or expected from me, and to show that no matter what style the tracks were produced in, the essence and spirit of the songs remained the same. In the end we have a landscape of different moods and dynamics that will hopefully take the listener on a bit of a journey. Each song will have an ambient, or slightly pop version as well as all the various dance remixes.”

‘Burn The Sky Down’ brings you the warm and welcoming ‘Colours’, the driving ‘Foolish Boy’, dark and seductive ‘Rewind’ and ‘Crucify’, and the haunting ‘State That I’m In’ amongst many other musical jewels. Bursting with touching lyrics, strong vocals and heart-rending melodies, this is Emma Hewitt in full flight.

Heatbeat – Rocker Monster / Arganda

Wed, 05/16/2012 - 19:00

Though there’s no better treatment for dancefloor destruction but the Heatbeat one, it’s now time to trade places. Argentinean duo Heatbeat sees their monster-hits ‘Arganda’ and ‘Rocker Monster’ remixed by Chris Schweizer, Kent & Gian and Tomas Heredia!

It’s starting to grow normal. Each time a new Heatbeat track hits the stores, it ends up topping charts and ruling radio shows and dance floors alike. ‘Arganda’ and ‘Rocker Monster’ are two of their latest highlights, and now get a full remix treatment by some of the scene’s most promising talents. And not just any talents. These three producers are all Buenos Aires-bound, and thus home to the same city as Heatbeat.

First there’s ‘Arganda’, undergoing a big-room remix Chris Schweizer. Playful, electro-house mixes with stabby melodic tech. A sturdy remix by one of Heabeat’s personal favourites. Kent & Gian, reconstructing and thickening ‘Rocker Monster’, bring out an even bigger monster in this one. For those that seek a milder, warm version of ‘Rocker Monster’, it’s Tomas Heredia’s remix you’re after.

Emma Hewitt – Miss You Paradise (part 2)

Wed, 05/16/2012 - 13:13

Life doesn’t always turn out to be the perfect paradise we’re hoping for. But while we’re dreaming, it’s the voice of Emma Hewitt that’ll keep us going. With ‘Miss You Paradise’, the second single of her debut album, she takes us to an all-time high.

The astonishing success of her first solo single won’t be easy to match. But the second jewel to rise from her ‘Burn Down The Sky’ album is just as refined and delicate as the warm ‘Colours’. A strong and catchy tune unfolds, as soon as ‘Miss You Paradise’ kicks in. Blending the influences of rock, pop and ambient, while carrying the weight of Emma’s strong vocals, it’s another bit of paradise you just have to discover.

Next to the enchanting original, there’s several remixes for the electronic dance lovers. Part 2 of the remix pack, brings you the stunning down-tempo Strings & Acoustic mix, as well as remixes by US producer Beckwith and UK duo Venom One.

If contagious, funky house is what you’re aiming for, try the Beckwithremix. The US producer re-wrote the melody and turned it into a warm, feel-good track. Looking for a mix of dubstep and quality house? Enjoy UK’s dubstep phenomenon Venom One. Their remix of ‘Miss You Paradise’ hits in exactly where it should.
