As one of the hottest young DJs on both sides of the Atlantic, Ryan has come a long way from his hardscrabble roots, when he was so short on money he mixed on cheap tape. But soon, his mixed tapes were being recognized for their originality and flair, and he found a loyal following at his early gigs. He did whatever was necessary to stay hot, have the hippest beats and best mixes- and even worked at McDonalds just so he could afford to buy records for his gigs.

Hip Hop and early Clubsound were the soundtrack to his life at the time, constantly exposed to the hottest sounds coming out of the USA from American soldiers stationed in Germany. His reputation grew quickly, as everyone wondered how he got his hands on all of the hot stuff weeks, even months, before anyone else. Soon, he was playing the bigger clubs in Stuttgart’s burgeoning dance scene, where over 2000 throbbing bodies packed the clubs seven nights a week. It was high energy and it flowed right through Ryan’s veins and continues to infuse his work to this day.

An incredible moment in his life occurred when a record dealer who he bought from, impressed with the progress he witnessed over the years in Ryan’s music selections and mixes, asked him if he wanted to own his own record store. To be a DJ and record store owner was a dream- come- true for a young man who was struggling financially only a few years earlier. Ryan was excited by the challenge. For more than 20 years Ryan managed his store, proud that it became a vortex of creative customers like Commander Tom, DJ Hell, Monika Kruse, Chris Montana, DJ Naughty, Sven Vätth, Georg Morel, DJ Taucher, Markus Gardeweg, Tandu, Marusha, DJ Smily and many more during these years. At the same time he got the chance to stand behind the decks with big names like Georg Morel, Tune Brothers, Milk+Sugar, JCA, Rene Vaitl. Never one to just sit back and accept success, Ryan felt he had proved himself in the business and was seeking his next big challenge. He asked himself if there wasn’t more that he could accomplish, when luck struck him a second time.

His fate played out on a hot summer day in 2010, while on a tennis court with a friend. Ryan had always enjoyed blowing off steam on a tennis court, as far back as he could remember. Suddenly, two strangers approached Ryan and his tennis partner and, rather than wait for a free court, challenged them to a match. After an intense game, Ryan and his partner lost by a net ball. The teams shook hands and headed to a popular bar together for some drinks. Soon, they began to talk about music. Incredibly, his new tennis friends were music producers! They listened carefully to Ryan’s ideas about music and his outlook on life and then asked him if he wanted to work with them to bring his music projects to the next level.

Incredibly, this was the new challenge Ryan had been dreaming about! A few days later, he was stuck inside a studio with beats, chords and a glass of wine in his right hand, as he set out on a new path of musical discovery. "It’s like there’s a continuous beat driving my life," says Ryan, "an energy that always propels me in the right direction."

Dance music fans are obsessed with Ryan’s intense minimalism, that is then layered with emotion and drama that drives the dance floor into a sensual party. He avoids the clichés, like on his transatlantic club hit, Miami Sensual, where you won’t find Cuban congas or timbales. Instead, it’s an electronic ode with a driving pulse, that still evokes endless electrified nights in South Beach. Clubbers from Ibiza to Berlin, South Beach to LA, Sydney to Sao Paulo, are quickly discovering that Ryan is defining the new sound of today’s more sophisticated global club life, where the most beautiful, fashionable and talented young people are creating the new scene of the next decade.
